*Depending on the total number of women and the breakdown of grading (Dan/Kyu). Women are able to compete in both the open and women's competitions.
Draws will be created following the close of entries and confirmed following the weapons check.
Restriction on technique in kyu grade matches in the 2012 AUG Kendo Competition.
To conform with the AKR supplementary rules for competitions, in kyu grade matches, use of tsuki thrust, jodan-no-kamae and nito(two swords) styles are not permitted.
Further, as the Open team competition provides for mixed dan and kyu competitors, this rule will apply also to the Open Team event.

Uniform requirements
The uniform requirements for each specific sport should be as per the national sporting organisation standard with the following minimum uniform requirements:
Kendo - Traditional KEIKO-GI jacket and pleaded HAKAMA pants, as required by the International Kendo Federation rules.
